Self-Portrait

For this self-portrait, I wore a traditional Bandari Borghe, something I had only seen on the women around me growing up but had never worn myself. It was a way to reconnect with the parts of my identity I had distanced myself from — to see how it felt to literally wear something that carries generations of culture, strength, and silence. Standing in front of the camera, I wasn’t just documenting how I looked — I was confronting how I’ve felt about belonging, womanhood, and visibility.
